Wooden Necklace

Materials- wood, wood glue, wooden pegs, paint

Back component of necklace is able to move so that it can be worn on the body.

Experienced using table-saw, hand saws, files, drill-press and sanding wood.

My initial attraction to jewelry and metal smithing mystifies me. I declared myself a Jewelry and Metalsmithing major with no grand expectations of myself; it simply felt like the right thing to do. Through my decision to learn about the different techniques, materials, and processes of jewelry and metal smithing, I have been surprised by the possibilities. Simply put, I love what I do and can’t seem to stop.

I have a fondness for nature and drawing that finds its way into my jewelry work. I enjoy making what I am attracted to, which helps me continue making new pieces. As my taste, experiences, and mood change, so does the art that follows. However, constants that I plan to carry with me are my love for line drawing, natural materials, organic shapes and design.

What I strive to achieve with the jewelry and art that I make is to be able to convey how I feel and who I want to be.
